Vulcan Gun Refinishing has been doing one thing since 1995: bringing classic 20th-century military weapons back to life. Located in Maidstone, Ontario—just 20 miles from Detroit—the shop operates a bright, clean 4,000 sq ft facility dedicated entirely to proper restoration work.
Master refinisher Nick Kaikkonen started this as a one-man operation because he couldn't find anyone else who knew how to do it right. After decades of autobody work (trained and licensed since 1977), he brought that same precision mindset to firearms restoration. The difference: he actually understands metallurgy, finishes, welding, and the patience required.
"No matter how complex the restoration, how severe the damage, or how meticulous or detailed the repair must be, I meet the challenge with enthusiasm."
Backed by a network of specialized craftsmen from the tool, die, and mold industries near Detroit. Access to TIG welders, laser engravers, metallurgists, and machinists means nearly any restoration requirement can be handled in-house or with proper expertise.
