The Palmdale Fin and Feather Club has been running since the mid-1950s on a 260-acre artificial lake completed in 1924. Lake Palmdale sits 2,918 feet above sea level, ringed by San Andreas Fault hills and Mount Tehachapi, with a 2.5-mile circumference. The club leases the property through Palmdale Water District and serves over 200,000 people in the surrounding region.

6 trap fields open every Sunday at 9 AM

  • Member price: $6.00 per round (25 shots)
  • Non-member price: $11.00 per round (25 shots)
  • Competent personnel available to instruct new shooters
  • All trap shooters must check in at main office before proceeding to range
  • Closes due to inclement weather at manager's discretion

Competent instruction is always on-site for shooters new to trap or unfamiliar with range procedures.

Fishing runs February through October (6 days per week, excluding Thursdays) - Open 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset - 48 fishing docks and 3 boat launching ramps - 2025 fish count: 16,969 trout, 305 catfish, 54 bass, 610 crappie/bluegill - Heavy stocking schedule: Rainbow and Lightning Trout December through April; Channel Catfish 1-2 loads during summer months - Species available: Rainbow trout, bass, channel catfish, bluegill, crappie, perch - Live and non-live bait, tackle, and lures available for purchase

Members caught over 16,000 trout in 2025 alone

October 18, 2025 – January 7, 2026 - Member hunting days: Sundays and Wednesdays only, sunrise to sunset - 2025-2026 harvest: 125 ducks, 8 geese recorded in 2023-2024 season - Gate locks 1 hour before shooting time; must sign in no later than 1 hour before - Hunters must be en route to blinds 45 minutes before shooting time - No guests allowed during hunting season - Must follow legal Southern California shoot times (posted in office and online)

Lake Palmdale is drinking water regulated by California Department of Health and County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health. No bodily contact with water is permitted. The club has established invasive species prevention protocols including waders inspection.
