Colorado Backcountry Precision

Colorado Backcountry Precision operates from a 60-acre property in Gypsum Creek, about 30 minutes from Vail in Eagle County. Tim Andrews owns the operation alongside Colin Rouaud—both are licensed hunting guides with Gypsum Creek Outfitters who've spent a decade hunting Colorado big game (elk, mule deer, bear) and upland/waterfowl birds across the state and East Coast.

They started this instruction business after a past client had Precision Hunt Supply build a custom rifle, then successfully took a trophy elk with it. Now they teach what actually works in the backcountry.

• •Setup: Figure-8 trail system packed by years of livestock and wildlife use
• •Block targets: 5 large blocks at 10-100 yards for sighting in bows and tuning broadheads
• •3D targets: 32 targets of varying sizes and animal species, over a mile-long loop with realistic angles and distances
• •Target variety: Different animal types, shot angles, and distance presentations

• •Trap shooting: From the same platform, clay pigeons can be flown for shotgun practice (waterfowl decoying, upland bird work)

• •Colin Rouaud grew up in the Vail Valley hunting big game and waterfowl. He's been guiding for Tim since college graduation in 2021.

Combined experience: 10+ years hunting Colorado big game with rifles, bows, and muzzleloaders. They've hunted grouse, chukar, pheasant, and waterfowl with bird dogs year after year. Both instructors have personally taken the same classes they teach through Precision Hunt Supply.
