Full description and what we offer
Pueblo Municipal Shooters is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization that's been running the only indoor shooting range in the Pueblo area. Located next to City Park Zoo, the range operates with a nine-member Board of Directors dedicated to promoting shooting sports safely and responsibly.
The facility features 10 lanes at 50 feet, each equipped with electronic target returns. You press and hold one button to send targets downrange—they stop at any distance up to the full 50-foot length. Four distance markers are indicated by spotlights on the target rail so you know exactly where your target stops.
Because of the shorter backstop distance, the range restricts approved firearms and ammunition to prevent ricochet and facility damage. Check their Firing Range SOP for the complete list of acceptable guns and ammo.
Memberships cover the principal member, spouse, and children under 18 in the same household. Kids under 18 must have a supervising member present to shoot. You can bring up to 3 guests at a time—guests pay $2 (adults) or $1 (minors).
| Membership Type | Annual Cost |
|---|---|
| Regular (under 60) | $100 |
| Senior (60+) | $90 |
| New member admin fee | $60 (one-time) |
Prorated memberships available if you join mid-year. Active military, Pueblo city police/fire, and county sheriff/deputies get the $60 admin fee waived. New member enrollment happens the 1st Monday of each month, 6-7:30 PM (in-person only—they create photo IDs and verify your driver's license).
Renewals are due by December 31. You get a grace period through January 31, but range access is suspended until payment clears. After January, your membership lapses.
All new members must complete the Free Gun Safety Class within 60 days of joining or your access card gets deactivated. The class covers:
Classes are taught by NRA Certified Instructors and Range Safety Officers. They typically run the 3rd Monday of each month, 6-9 PM. The class does NOT qualify for Colorado's concealed handgun permit, but it satisfies PMS's training requirement.
You can take the class before joining if you want. Sign up on their website.
Non-members can shoot on Wednesday and Thursday nights. You'll need to sign the waiver (yellow book) and pay the guest fee ($2 adults, $1 minors, active military free). Public night is first-come, first-served.
Jr. Marksman Program
Youth ages 10-17 can participate (members or non-members). The 13-week program covers small bore rifle and air rifle with instruction in standing, prone, and kneeling positions. All equipment is furnished, though you can bring your own bolt-action .22LR.
