"It's hard to believe that just a week ago I was at 12,000 feet enjoying everything a Sangre de Cristo sheep hunt has to offer ... the scenery was beautiful and the rams were plentiful." — Client testimonial
SDO operates across multiple ranches and game management units in southern Colorado:
Mountain Meadow Ranch - 13,000+ acres of private, secluded elk habitat at 9,000-11,000 feet elevation. This is the rut hunt location—hunts run early September through November with guaranteed licenses from CPW. Fully guided 5-day hunts include ranch lodge accommodations, meals, and full-time cook. They maintain 100% opportunity rate (though harvest isn't guaranteed).
The Rose & Yellico Ranches - 17,000+ combined acres in GMUs 69/84. Elevations from 5,000-6,500 feet with pinyon-juniper, oak brush, canyons, ponderosa pine, and mountain parks. Spot-and-stalk terrain. 5-day fully guided hunts for archery, muzzleloader, and rifle. Ranch bunkhouse or lodge accommodations.
The Nash Ranch - GMU 581, 8,000-9,000 feet. Private land with meadows, rolling hills, mountain mahogany, ponderosa, spruce, and aspen. 4-day fully guided hunts. Over-the-counter tags available for archery and 2nd/3rd rifle seasons.
Combo elk & deer hunts available across all ranches
30,000+ acres of private land plus National Forest and BLM access in GMUs 69/84. Terrain ranges from 5,000 feet (pinyon-juniper, deep canyons) to nearly 11,000 feet (aspen, meadows, spruce). 5-day fully guided hunts for archery, muzzleloader, and rifle. High success rate on trophy-class bucks through conservation and habitat management.
50 years of experience. 250+ successful hunts. 11 governor's tags in their history.
Hunts in GMUs S9, S35, S49, S50, S51, S60. 7-day fully guided with meals and lodging. Drawing a bighorn tag is competitive—most hunters wait decades. SDO guides have proven track records in high-elevation sheep country.
Southern Colorado, thousands of acres, first Saturday in October typically. 5-day fully guided hunts with opportunity to see multiple bucks daily. Ranch bunkhouse or lodge accommodations with meals included.

Most Colorado big game hunts (elk, deer, bear) go through the draw system. Applications to Colorado Parks and Wildlife are due the first Tuesday of April. SDO maintains private landowner vouchers for clients who don't draw—these allow you to keep accumulating preference points while securing a hunt for the following year (50% deposit required).
If you book early and don't draw, deposits roll over or refund.
Tom Schulze, Bill Schulze, and Travis Schulze manage operations. The business is built on mutual respect for animals and land—conservation practices and selective hunting have maintained trophy-class game populations across their ranches.
