Full description and what we offer
Matt Bergstreser started Windage Weaponry in late 2017 after spending years balancing his day job as an aircraft mechanic with a lifelong obsession with firearms. His passion started early—sitting in his uncle's living room handling custom Mausers and .22 hornets as a kid. That early exposure never left.
To turn the hobby into something real, Bergstreser attended Trinidad State's Summer Gunsmithing Program while working through machinist coursework. The difference matters: not every machinist makes a great gunsmith. "Things have to fit, they have to run smooth and they have to look GOOD," he says. It requires being a craftsman, woodworker, painter, and master of finishes—not just someone who can operate a lathe.

Windage Weaponry operates as a full-service gunsmith operation. Owner Matt Bergstreser handles custom rifle builds, precision gunsmithing work, stock restoration, and FFL transfers. The shop maintains various machining and manufacturing equipment visible in their gallery—lathes, mills, and reloading setup.
They're licensed and insured as a manufacturer of premium custom long-range rifles and ammunition. They don't maintain large new inventory; instead, they work on consignment used firearms and can source specific firearms through dealer connections. The approach is straightforward: if you know what you want, they'll quote it. If you need work done, they handle everything from minor repairs to complete custom builds.
