Stewart King started shooting in 1980 and has been coaching youth archery since 2000 through the Rocky Mountain Hot Shots JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) team. He holds a USA Archery Level 4 NTS Coach certification and a degree in Engineering from Colorado State University. He built Rocky Mountain Archery to serve everyone from kids picking up a bow for the first time to competitive hunters and tournament shooters.

The facility spans three functional areas:

  • 28-lane main range with target butts set at 10 yards for beginners and 20 yards for experienced shooters
  • 5-lane side range dedicated to private lessons, birthday parties, and equipment testing
  • Full pro shop stocked with new and rental equipment

Bow rentals max out at 2 hours and aren't shared—each person gets a custom-fitted setup. No reservations accepted, but calling 15–30 minutes ahead is smart for groups of 3+.

They service every bow type—compound, recurve, crossbow, vintage, current—regardless of age or condition. Services include:

Setup & Tuning - Draw length and weight adjustment - D-loop and release loop installation - Peep sight install and tie-in with rotation adjustment - Rest install with center shot alignment and drop-away tie-in - Sight install with 3rd axis adjustment - Quiver installation - Paper tuning and chronograph/arrow speed testing - Basic bow tune-ups and "Super Tune" service - Broadhead tuning (summer/fall only)

  • Saturday Youth League (Starting Oct. 11) | Ages 6–18 in two time slots with instructors present. $12/session, 1-hour sessions, includes bow rental if needed. Pay on sign-in, first-come basis.
  • 3D Bowhunter League (Starting Oct. 15) | Wednesday evenings, 6 PM. Four competition series plus a fun shoot and Fred Bear series. $15/session, 30 different foam animal targets at 5–30 yards. Drop-in format, no bow rentals.
  • Target League (Starting Oct. 16) | Thursday evenings, 6 PM. NFAA Blue Face and Vegas Face formats, 60 arrows per session at 20 yards. $11/session plus optional $1 buy-in for jackpot.
  • Private Lessons | $75/hour individual, prorate for 2–4 shooters ($130 for 2, $195 for 3, $260 for 4). Typically books 2–3 weeks out. Not available July–September. Non-refundable deposit required.
  • Birthday Parties & Group Events | $18/shooter/hour (5-person minimum), $27 for 90 minutes, $36 for 120 minutes. Minimum age 6. Upstairs event room available for $50/hour with tables and chairs. Rental agreement and non-refundable $50 deposit required.
