Full description and what we offer
Grey Wolf Consulting specializes in firearms safety and tactical training for civilians, security professionals, and law enforcement. Their core offering is the CT/Multi-State Pistol Permit Certification course—a one-day class ($150 group tuition) that meets Connecticut's mandatory training requirement for all pistol permit applicants.
This isn't a rubber-stamp course. The class includes live fire with both revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, covers firearm nomenclature and safe handling, ammunition safety, proper storage, shooting fundamentals and positions, range commands, diagnosing and fixing pistol stoppages, and maintenance of semi-autos and revolvers. Upon completion, you get a certificate valid for Connecticut, Florida, and several other states.
The state requires these steps:
1. Complete an approved firearms safety class (this is it) 2. Get a pistol permit application from your local police department 3. Submit application with ID, birth certificate, reference letters, completion certificate, and fingerprints 4. Local authority has 8 weeks to approve or deny 5. If approved, you get a temporary pistol permit valid for 60 days—this doesn't let you buy guns 6. You must immediately apply to Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection in Middletown to get your full state permit within that 60-day window 7. If denied, you have 90 days to appeal to the State Board of Permit Examiners
Critical timing detail: Many applicants get stuck because they don't realize the temporary permit expires in 60 days. Miss that window and you start over from scratch.
Grey Wolf's instructors walk you through this entire process so you understand what happens after class.
They run courses for:
Tactical & Operator Training: - Tactical Pistolcraft (2.5 days, $495) - 1911 Operator (2.5 days, $495) - Tactical Semi-Automatic Rifle (2.5 days, $495) - Law Enforcement Patrol Rifle (2 days, $375) - Law Enforcement Precision Marksman—Basic (5 days, $625) - The Mechanics of Close Protection ($700)
Connecticut Security Officer Certifications: - Blue Card Firearms Certification (1 day, $200 group / $475 private) - Blue Card Student Prep Course (NEW, $210 group / $520 private) - White Card/Guard Card—Criminal Justice (1 day, $125 group / $475 private) - Security Firearms Annual Recertification (half day, $125 group / $150 private)
All courses are available in three formats: - Standard group tuition - Private instruction (call for pricing) - Private group instruction (call for pricing)
Most courses require ammunition beyond tuition. Instructors are NRA-certified or certified through other recognized agencies with extensive firearms training and real-world experience.
