Full description and what we offer
Recademics offers the state-approved Connecticut hunter safety course—the one you actually need before buying your first hunting license. It's CDEEP-delegated and recognized by the International Hunter Education Association (IHEA), meaning your certificate works in all 50 states, Canada, and Mexico.
Connecticut law requires hunter education if you're: - A first-time hunter planning to buy a hunting license - Haven't held a hunting license from another state within the past two years
The state also strongly encourages all hunters to get certified, regardless of requirements.
| Step | Time |
|---|---|
| Register | 5 minutes |
| Complete course & pass exam | 3-6 hours |
| Download certification | 1 minute |
| Complete any in-person field day (if required) | Varies |
Pass guarantee: If you don't pass the final exam, retake it free.
The curriculum covers eight core areas: - Hunting fundamentals: terminology, gear, and equipment maintenance - Firearms & shooting skills: stance, aiming, accuracy, and safety protocols - Hunting techniques: tracking, camouflage, calls, scents - Ethical & responsible hunting: conservation, wildlife respect, and legal compliance - Connecticut hunting laws: seasons, bag limits, licensing requirements - Wildlife identification: species guides, habitats, behavior - Survival & emergency prep: wilderness safety and unexpected situations
They've partnered with OutdoorClass to feature actual hunting experts and legends as instructors—not generic safety narrators. The course is interactive with real-world examples and challenges designed to keep you engaged. Live customer support is available Mon–Fri, 8AM–8PM CST if you hit a snag.
Price: $39.95 (mid-range for Connecticut; competitors run $30–$60)
Your Hunter Education Certificate doesn't expire—it's valid for life. Connecticut may require an in-person field day after course completion; check the Connecticut DEEP website for current requirements.
