Full description and what we offer
Train Safe Academy handles the foundational course every Connecticut shooter needs: the 6-hour Basics of Pistol Shooting class required for state pistol permit eligibility. You get your NRA Certificate, detailed instructions for the permit application process, and hands-on range time at Stratford Guns & Ammo—not just classroom lectures.
With over 500 students trained, Will Hampton's built this operation on remembering what it's like to be new and nervous about firearms.
Will Hampton is an NRA-certified firearms instructor and Range Safety Officer with 20+ years of shooting experience. He started as a beginner himself at 21, using saved money to take the permit course. That experience shapes everything he does—his priority is making new shooters feel comfortable and confident before they step on the range.
Private sessions available for groups of 5 or more.
