Close Encounters Bow Hunts

Tom Close started Close Encounters in 1998 after years of organizing hunts for friends and family. What began as personal hunting trips evolved into a full-service booking operation covering North America, Africa, Argentina, and New Zealand.

The core focus is big game bowhunts. Close has harvested 11 North American species with a bow, including the current #8 P&Y Canadian Moose and an 8½ ft. Brown Bear. His Mule Deer scored over 190 inches. He's bowhunted Africa 5 times, taking 16 different species including Cape Buffalo and Sable.

Available hunts include: - Elk, Whitetail, Mule Deer, Coues Deer - Black Bear, Grizzly/Brown Bear, Mountain Lion - Moose, Caribou, Antelope - Mountain Goat, Wild Sheep, Sitka Blacktail - Muskox & Bison - African and exotic species

While archery is the specialty, they also book: - Rifle & Muzzleloader hunts across the same species list - Wingshooting: Waterfowl in Argentina and upland birds - Fishing: Walleyes, pike, trout, salmon, and panfish

Travis Close, Tom's son, joined the operation as a hunting consultant. Travis is an accomplished bowhunter with 5 North American species to his name, most making P&Y record books. He brings professional sales experience from insurance work and actively manages client relationships.
