Full description and what we offer
5barN Outfitters is owned and operated by Brady Noble, his wife Shanna, and their three sons—Kam, Jake, and Will. Brady spent 18 years as an Agricultural Environmental Specialist before transitioning to full-time outfitting and guide services. The family runs a 30-acre farm where their sons raise polled Hereford show cattle for 4H competition. What matters most: they hunt together as a family and bring that collaborative mindset to every client trip.
September Archery & Black Powder Elk
Peak rut season in the San Juan Mountains. Camps sit at 10,000–11,000 feet elevation deep in wilderness where magnificent bugling bulls announce themselves daily. You can hunt with recurve, compound, or longbow. Blackpowder hunters bring flintlock, caplock, or inline rifles. Hunts take place in Unit 76 or the Sangre de Cristo Wilderness (Unit 82).
Rifle Season Elk Hunts
When the rut is waning and bulls are more wary, guide experience matters most. Fully guided hunts start before dawn with hot breakfast in the cook tent. Guides work north-slope black timber, grassy parks, and aspen stands. The day ends with appetizers, hearty meals, dessert, and elk stories around camp.
Moose Hunts
Moose were transplanted into the Weminuche Wilderness in the early 1990s. 5barN maintains a 100% success rate on guided moose hunts thanks to years of scouting data collected during archery and muzzleloader elk seasons. These are deep-wilderness pack trips for a once-in-a-lifetime hunt.
Timberline Early Rifle Deer Hunt
Only four Colorado Game Management Units offer this hunt. Unit 82 is one of them, and 5barN operates there. Camps sit at 11,600 feet in pristine country. Mule deer are found in groups of three to five, making them slightly easier to spot but also more alert. Patient glassing is essential. This is high-elevation, elusive quarry hunting.
"My guys—husband, 3 sons, and son-in-law—loved their elk hunt last fall with Mr. Brady Noble. They loved feeling like real cowboys, riding the horses and mules. They said it was so relaxing, and they could just ride and look at the gorgeous scenery. If you're looking for a great time, you will be glad you went with this outfit." — Eileen M., Pennsylvania
"I've been elk hunting 8 different times on my own unsuccessfully. Best decision 2 relatives and I could have made. 5 Bar N Outfitters is top notch. Guides were so patient and kept saying 'this is your hunt, we will go at whatever pace you like.' I shot my first elk—a dandy 6x6." — Greg Nelson, LaFarge, Wisconsin
"Went with a buddy on a drop camp elk muzzleloader. Stock, people, and camp are great. Knows the area, gave good advice. Brought home a good bull." — Steve Priestly
