The Delaware State Sportsmen's Association (DSSA) is the state's official NRA partner—the only organization recognized by the National Rifle Association as its designated local representative in Delaware. What separates DSSA from talk isn't hard to see: they file lawsuits, not just newsletters.
DSSA protects gun owners through three primary channels:
Legislative & Legal Defense - Direct coordination with Delaware lawmakers on 2nd Amendment issues - Active federal litigation challenging unconstitutional state laws - Amicus curiae briefs filed in major cases nationwide (California, New Jersey, Maryland, New York, federal appellate courts) - Action alerts that mobilize members to contact legislators when votes matter
NRA Program Delivery in Delaware - Competitive shooting programs (clay tournaments, rifle/pistol events) - Eddie Eagle gun safety programs for children - Refuse to Be a Victim personal safety courses - Women on Target programs designed specifically for female shooters - General gun safety education for men, women, and youth
