Girls Only Defense Training provides firearms instruction specifically designed for women who want to protect themselves and their families. Founder and Chief Instructor Amanda Wilson is an NRA-certified Home Firearm Safety Instructor, Basic Pistol Instructor, Basic Rifle Instructor, and Chief Range Safety Officer—plus she holds multiple USCCA certifications.
Every class welcomes complete beginners. You don't need to own a gun or bring ammunition—Girls Only Defense Training provides weapons and ammo. The philosophy is straightforward: firearms are one tool in your self-defense toolbox, and everyone deserves to learn how to use them safely, regardless of experience level.
No firearm ownership required. Equipment and ammunition provided for all classes.
Women's Handgun and Self-Defense Fundamentals (Modules 1, 2, 3) - Breaks down concealed carry and personal protection into digestible modules - Three separate classes let you absorb lessons, practice, then advance - Covers the "why" behind carrying and defensive tactics
Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals - Covers topics needed to acquire your Florida Concealed Weapons License - Can be completed as 6-8 hour in-person class or split into mini-lessons/online modules - Flexible scheduling for busy schedules
Children's Firearms and Safety Fundamentals - Ages 6-17, comprehensive safety education for youth - Addresses how to introduce kids to firearms safely in your home - Positive, welcoming learning environment
Real Estate Agent Safety - 2-hour specialized class for agents who work with strangers daily - Situational awareness and trusting your instincts - Off-range, practical safety for the job
One-on-One Range Training - 2-hour personalized blocks - Flexible scheduling
Basic Pistol - Fundamentals course for beginners - Covers pistol/revolver function, ammunition basics, cleaning - Qualifies for Florida Concealed Weapons Permit - Blended learning and in-person options available

NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) Certification - 9-hour mandatory in-person course - Qualifies you to serve as RSO at firearm competitions - Content includes range procedures, emergency protocols, malfunction response - Online option available for already-certified NRA instructors
Safety glasses and ear protection are required. Bring them if you have them—Girls Only Defense Training can provide if needed.
Clothing recommendations: - Closed-toe, flat shoes (comfortable for standing all day) - Long sleeves and long pants (hot brass can cause burns) - High-necked shirt to prevent brass falling into neckline - Brimmed hat to keep brass off face/head - Appropriate outdoor gear if class is on outdoor range

Do I need to own a gun to participate? No. Girls Only Defense Training provides firearms and ammunition for all students. Do not bring your own gun to class.
Do I need prior shooting experience? No. All experience levels are welcome. Beginners, intermediate, and advanced shooters all learn something valuable in each class.
What if I'm doing an all-day class? Bring lunch, water, and snacks to keep yourself fueled. Safety glasses and ear protection are required.
