Full description and what we offer
Horse Creek Traditional Archery Club (HCTAC) is the only all-traditional archery club serving the Tallahassee area and surrounding regions. Founded in 1992 for archers who want to get back to basics, HCTAC hosts regular 3D and field archery tournaments that draw shooters from Georgia, Florida, and points between.
You don't need to be a member to shoot their events. Anyone with traditional equipment is welcome to participate. Members come from across the tri-state area, and the club actively promotes the sport to all ages.
HCTAC awards in 9 different traditional divisions: - Men's recurve, longbow, and primitive - Ladies' recurve, longbow, and primitive - Youth divisions by age (Cubs, Pee Wees, and older shooters) - Iron Man competition for experienced archers
Tournament rules are straightforward: recurves, longbows, and primitive bows only (no fiberglass or carbon in primitive). Target points required—no broadheads or blunts. Arrows must be shot off hand, bow shelf, or elevated rest. Score keepers verify all hits before arrows are pulled.
