St. Lucie Shooting Center

St. Lucie Shooting Center operates both a shooting range and firearm retail operation at 490 NW Concourse Place, Port Saint Lucie, FL 34986. The range features 2 separate ranges totaling 12 lanes at 25 yards, with a fully stocked gun store next door at St Lucie Guns (492 NW Concourse Place).

This isn't a reservation-only operation. Walk-ins are first come, first served (except for groups of 10+). You can show up any day during business hours:

• •Range Safety Officers are on staff during operating hours. First-timers are asked to fill out a waiver before shooting.

The CCW 1 class runs three times per week: - Saturdays at 10am - Sundays at 10am - Wednesdays at 6pm

Cost: $55 per person | Duration: 3-3.5 hours

• •What's included: All classroom materials, eye and ear protection, firearm, ammunition, and targets. You'll do mostly classroom work, then finish with a firearm safety and handling assignment on the range. Completion satisfies Florida's competency requirement for concealed weapon licensing.

Important: The certificate is only valid for 365 days. You must be at least 20 years old when taking the class. After completion, you take your certificate to your county tax collector's office for fingerprints and paperwork—the permit comes by mail.

• •Basic Weapons Class – Reviews fundamentals from the CCW class plus coached dry fire and live fire exercises. Eye and ear protection provided, targets provided. You supply the firearm (or rent one) and ammunition. Call (772) 340-4499 for details.

• •Youth Safety and Shooting Class – For beginners age 13 and up. $60 per student, 2 hours. Covers firearm safety fundamentals and shooting basics. Includes range time, firearm, ammunition, eye and ear protection, and targets. Must be supervised 100% by a guardian over 21.

Can't bring your own gun? St. Lucie rents firearms for $15. Requirement: you must use ammunition purchased at the range in rental guns.

The range stocks a wide variety of ammunition. They accept bulk discounts and have specific restrictions:

Allowed: - Rifle and pistol ammunition (brass cased only) - Shotgun ammunition (buckshot and slugs only) - Up to .50 BMG caliber

NOT allowed: - Steel cased or jacketed ammunition (Tula, Wolf, etc.) - Magnetic ammunition - Green tip ammunition - Tracer ammunition - Bird shot or clay shot for shotguns

• •Why no steel ammo? Steel can pierce the bullet-catching backstops, creating expensive repairs and safety hazards for maintenance staff.

Eye and ear protection rentals: $1 (sanitized after each use)

The attached gun store handles FFL transfers, sells firearms and firearm accessories, and manages gun safes and moving services. Call (772) 333-2060 for sales inquiries.

Instructors have backgrounds in military, security services, and law enforcement. The primary on-site instructor is Steve Hedricks. The facility partners with multiple certified private instructors.
