Viking Tactical School

Viking Tactical School teaches pistol, carbine, and tactical shooting courses designed around real-world self-defense. Founded in the Houston community with roots in military and law enforcement service, the school emphasizes applied skills over theory.

• •Pistol Classes start with fundamentals—grip, sight picture, trigger control—and progress through defensive deployment. Advanced pistol courses (Adv Pistol 3) introduce complex maneuvers and timed scenarios for shooters already competent with handguns.

• •Carbine Classes cover weapon operation, safety fundamentals, and movement-to-cover drills. Students learn the carbine as a platform for self-defense—shorter than a full rifle, more powerful than a pistol, and effective in tight spaces like homes or vehicles.

• •Specialized Courses include:
• •Advanced Carbine/Pistol (tested against U.S. Special Forces Critical Tasks)
• •Night/Low-Light Shooting (statistically where most self-defense happens)
• •2-Day Combined Carbine/Pistol courses
• •Steel Master target-focused training
• •Covert Guardian EDC pistol concealment and draw courses
• •Women-only pistol fundamentals
• •Private 1-on-1 instruction ($125 for 3 hours)

The school uses a balanced approach: instructors assess your skill level and teach to that level, so you progress comfortably. Every course emphasizes safety (all instructors trained in range safety), real-world application, and measurable growth.

Study for your Texas License to Carry online at your own pace, then schedule an in-person assessment when you're ready.

Viking Tactical School is a DBA of Texas State Response Group, LLC, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization of Houston volunteers. All proceeds fund community projects—hurricane recovery, disaster relief, and training programs through the Texas State Militia.
