Full description and what we offer

Wingler Firearms Training was founded by Paul Wingler, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who holds NRA certification. The operation focuses on exactly what the name says: teaching firearms safety and competency through hands-on instruction and range work.

"Promoting Safety through Education; Building Confidence through Knowledge and Training"

Wingler's approach mirrors NRA methodology refined over 150+ years. Materials and training drills are continuously updated to reflect real-world defensive scenarios and situational awareness. Instructors emphasize practical, applicable skills—not just marksmanship, but understanding when and how to avoid conflict entirely.

Beginner Level - Basic Pistol Safety & Concealed Weapon License (4 hours) — Introduction to pistol operation, ammunition, shooting fundamentals, and live fire from the two-handed standing position. Includes NRA certification and gun safety rules.

  • Beyond the Basics Series (each 2-4 hours, builds progressively)
  • Level I: Accuracy, dexterity, precision and speed. Focus on stances, grip, sight alignment, trigger control, and dry fire practice (150 rounds minimum).
  • Level II: Prerequisite course or pre-assessment required. Adds weak-hand shooting, drawing from holster, close-up defensive work, and multiple-target engagement (200 rounds minimum).
  • Level III (Basic Defensive Pistol): 3-4 hour course covering rapid fire, defensive drawing with cover garment, close-range defensive techniques, and multiple-target drills under timed conditions (300-350 rounds minimum).

Specialized Tracks - Personal Protection Inside the Home Course - Personal Protection Outside the Home Course - Women Concealed (dedicated instruction)

Students provide their own firearm, ammunition, eye and hearing protection. Instructors cover: - Gun safety rules and range commands - Firearm operation and parts - Ammunition compatibility and malfunctions - Stances and grip fundamentals - Sight alignment and sight picture - Trigger control and shot placement - Dry fire practice (emphasized for cost-effective skill development) - Holster drawing and defensive positioning - Safe storage and firearm selection guidance

All instructors are NRA-certified and bring varied backgrounds. The curriculum adapts to student needs—whether you're a complete beginner or an advanced shooter refining specific skills.

  • One-on-one guidance available for beginners or advanced shooters needing personalized instruction
  • Gift cards ($75–$350) available for course enrollment
  • Free consultation by phone to discuss which course fits your goals
  • NRA membership enrollment assistance
