Russell Woske is a former Army infantryman and armorer who turned his lifetime of weapon modification experience into a full-service gunsmith shop. The shop operates out of 51 West Main Street in Lakeland, GA, and handles everything from cosmetic customization to precision rifle work.

Woske's background includes squad designated marksman and sniper rifle experience in the Army, which shows up in his scope sighting work. He's worked with military installations and local law enforcement, all of whom return for his reputation on precision finishing and attention to detail.

Woske is Lakeland's only factory-trained and certified Cerakote applicator—and South Georgia and North Florida's premiere certified applicator. Cerakote is a thin protective ceramic film that bonds to nearly any surface (firearms, knives, tactical gear, even Yeti cups). He offers:

Stippling is pyrography applied to firearm frames—an ancient craft making a comeback in the shooting world. Woske breaks down the gun completely, cleans, sands, and polishes before designing and executing the stipple work. He offers:

• •Multiple pattern types (Rough Rider, Sprinkles, custom designs)
• •Frame modifications performed simultaneously: Glock knuckle cuts, finger groove deepening/removal, magazine scalloping, trigger guard rounding, backstrap filing, trigger undercutting
• •Work tailored to improve grip ergonomics or pure aesthetics

Woske specializes in reshaping pistol frames (especially Glocks) to fit individual hands. Cuts include:

• •Finger groove deepening (smaller hands, better ergonomics)
• •Glock knuckle/knuckle cut (higher purchase on gun)
• •Finger groove removal (larger hands, speed shooting)
• •Trigger guard rounding (prevent snagging on clothes)
• •Backstrap swell reduction (smaller hands)
• •Trigger undercutting (support hand ergonomics)

• •Rifled Barrel Break-In Procedures — Every new rifle or pistol with a rifled barrel should undergo break-in before firing. New barrels have microscopic imperfections; break-in allows metal surfaces to form smooth, cohesive bonds. The result: improved consistency and improved accuracy. Every break-in includes post-procedure cleaning.

• •Scope Sighting — Woske has the credentials: expert marksman, squad designated marksman, and sniper rifle/optics tester in the Army. He takes your firearm to the range, zeros optics on a range pod to your requested yardage, and ensures proper function. Laser bore sighting is quick but won't replace actual live-fire sighting.

• •Upgrades — Free advice on modifications. Whether you want a new trigger system, barrel, night sights, or optic, Woske helps you avoid buyer's remorse. He sources parts, installs them, test-fires, and calls when it's ready.

• •Repairs — Focus on reliability. If your gun isn't working as designed, he diagnoses and fixes it. "Nothing is broken. It's simply out of commission until we get a hold of it."

He holds a Federal Firearms License, services military installations and police departments in the area, and treats every gun like it's his own. Custom builds are his specialty (see the gallery for heavily modified Glocks, AR-15s, and shotguns), but walk-ins for simple modifications are welcome.
