Full description and what we offer
Brandon and Angela Jensen own and operate Bitterroot Outfitters from Challis, Idaho, raising their five children while running one of the state's most respected outfitting operations. Brandon started guiding in 2008 under Travis Bullock at Mile High Outfitters, then managed lion hunts for Flying Resort Ranches before purchasing Bitterroot Outfitters in 2022 (official takeover in 2023). The operation expanded significantly in 2007 when it acquired four additional outfitting businesses and extended services along the Salmon River Breaks.
Bitterroot operates under permits in: - Bitterroot National Forest - Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness (Units 17, 20, 20A) - Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness - Nez Perce Forest
Most camps sit around 7,000 feet elevation. You can choose between accessible base camps along remote roads or traditional pack-in camps for the true backcountry experience.

Idaho's bear population is high with abundant color phases: brown, black, blonde, and cinnamon. Your guides handle all game packing, especially critical during warm weather.
"I killed a nice 6x6 bull on the first full day and a bear on the last day. The food was delicious and the professional operation is top-notch." — Matt Richards, Santa Fe, TX
Most bear hunts run from base camp at Kim Creek, though they partner with River of No Return Lodge for early spring hunts (lodging fees separate).
Accommodations include three tents: - Kitchen tent - Sleep tent - Lounge and shower tent
