Pocatello Field Archers operates as one of the largest and most active archery clubs in the inland Northwest. With 150+ active members and 80+ years of continuous operation, PFA is run entirely by volunteers—no paid staff, no corporate overhead. Everything from range maintenance to facility construction gets handled by members themselves.
PFA maintains shooting locations across Pocatello and the surrounding region:
- •Pocatello Creek Road – Two outdoor ranges plus the main indoor facility
- •Scout Mountain – Historic outdoor range in Caribou National Forest
The indoor range is hard to miss: 6,600 square feet with 16 shooting lanes, three restrooms, kitchen, office, and storage. There's an outside deck with a built-in BBQ and lunch area. Handicap accessible. Members get 24/7 access with electronic keycard entry.
Membership costs roughly half what comparable facilities charge in other locations because PFA eliminates paid staff and overhead.
- •Indoor and outdoor league shoots (NFAA-approved facility)
- •3D League and novelty shoots throughout the year
- •Bow hunter safety education and continuing education courses
- •Youth archery programs – Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) actively funded and staffed
- •Youth group reservations – Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, school groups can book the facility. PFA maintains a complete set of Mathews Genesis youth bows and arrows for use during these programs.
- •High school, university, and community education courses

All facilities are maintained and managed by the membership. An 11-person board (elected by members) provides direction. Fundraising and facility improvements happen through member labor and donations. There's no "corporate" feel here—it's genuinely run by people who shoot and care about archery.

Gate keys and electronic keycards are issued through board members after new member orientation. Contact information for officers is available on the website.
