JCC Firearms

JCC Firearms is staffed by former military, police, and experienced gun owners who teach concealed carry and handgun courses in Loves Park. The focus is on giving shooters the actual skills they need—not just checking a box for a license.

• •Concealed Carry Course (16 hours over 2 days)
• •USCCA curriculum covering self-defense law, use of force, and Illinois/federal firearms regulations
• •Firearms fundamentals: stance, grip, trigger control, sight picture
• •Gun disassembly, cleaning, and maintenance
• •Malfunction identification and clearing
• •Dry-fire practice on Mantis and Smokeless Range laser systems
• •Live-fire qualification: 30 rounds at 5, 7, and 10 yards (70% minimum)

• •CCL Renewal (3 hours)
• •For Illinois concealed carry license holders renewing their permit
• •Meets all state requirements

• •Intro to Handgun (full-day beginner/refresher)
• •Women-only courses available
• •Foundation skills for new shooters

Utah Concealed Carry - 30 minutes for IL CCL holders (reciprocity expansion) - 4 hours for Illinois residents without an IL license

• •Veteran/Prior LE Credit (8 hours)
• •Available for veterans or former law enforcement
• •Accepts previous NRA Basic Pistol training

Classes are scheduled throughout January, February, and March 2026 with multiple time slots to fit different schedules. Students get cleaning supplies and practice holsters included. Dry-fire simulator training with laser SIRT guns happens before and after live-fire work so shooters can practice fundamentals without ammunition costs.

JCC Firearms partners with A Girl & A Gun, a nationwide women's shooting club that runs range events, virtual training, and destination events. AG & AG is led by female-certified instructors in a judgment-free environment.
