This is the core difference—you bid your max amount using their auto-bidding system, and if you win, you pay exactly what you bid (plus shipping and applicable taxes). No hidden premiums tacked on at checkout.
Their bidding system is straightforward: you enter your maximum bid amount in the proxy system, and it automatically increments your bid by the minimum amount until you either win or reach your max. If there's new bidding activity in the final 5 minutes, the auction extends another 2 minutes to keep things fair.
