The Dyersville Sportsman's Club & Conservation Society is a non-profit organization operating a full outdoor recreation park in Earlville, Iowa—approximately 6 miles west of Dyersville and 3 miles east of Earlville. The club combines shooting sports, fishing, camping, and conservation in one 200+ acre setting.
Shooting Facilities - Long-range rifle range (members only, $20/year range fee required in addition to membership) - Pistol range (pistols only—no long guns permitted) - Archery range hosting competitive 3D shoots - Concrete shooting tables with member-provided targets - State-level field archery competitions held annually
Fishing & Water - Two fully-stocked ponds: catfish, bass, and bluegill - Pine tree coverage providing wildlife habitat - Members-only access
Camping & Lodging - 8 electrical hookups available - Primitive camping sites (no showers) - Dump station (added 2023) - 2025 rates: $15/night with electricity, $5/night without - Heated cabin rental: $35/day ($250 on wedding day), sleeps roughly 46 inside plus outdoor capacity - Cabin runs mid-April through late October with water; winter rentals available but no running water
Facilities - Multiple picnic shelters - Hiking trails with recent maintenance - Welcome Center with payment/information box
Membership is required to fish, camp, shoot, or use the cabin/shelters. 2025 options:

Household members can add range access for $20 each with signed waiver. Memberships can be picked up at Plum Creek Archery, Jeff's Auto, or directly from board members.
Every shooter must sign a Release & Waiver of Liability before range use. Parents/guardians must sign for anyone under 18.

- •Shooters use concrete tables and provide their own targets
- •1-hour shooting limit when others are waiting
- •Pistol range: pistols only, no long guns
- •No shooting when farmers are in adjacent fields
- •Zero alcohol on the range
- •Pickup/trash removal mandatory
- •Members who violate rules forfeit membership
- •Report any damage or misuse immediately
- •Rifles range closed in July during State Field Shoot
Contact Al Becker at 563-590-6328. Rental includes 11 AM to 10 AM access. Winter rental available (bring your own firewood for wood stove). Wedding receptions available—must be club member with $100 deposit. If serving alcohol at events, host liability insurance required.
$100 refundable deposit (returned if cabin is clean and undamaged).

Recent club achievements include grinding 30 tree stumps, maintaining ash tree removal, reinforcing gun range infrastructure, and adding a dump station for camping.

The club is affiliated with the Delaware County Chapter of Pheasants Forever and maintains prairie grass habitat for nesting wild game birds and small mammals.
