Full description and what we offer
Green Ops is an international firearms training company founded in 2005 by Mike Green, a former Special Forces soldier. What sets them apart isn't just the résumés—it's that every single instructor actively shoots, competes, and trains outside of teaching. Their lead instructors show up at USPSA matches, IDPA competitions, and outside training events consistently. This isn't theoretical instruction.
The crew that teaches your class is the same crew you might see competing in matches or getting additional training themselves.
The 2-Day LPVO course stands out because it's genuinely comprehensive. You learn to run an LPVO-equipped carbine across its full spectrum—from close quarters (where LPVOs have a learning curve) out to 500 meters where magnification and precision reticles become valuable.
The course structure includes: - Classroom instruction on optic fundamentals - Zero confirmation (critical step most miss) - CQB work with sling management and shooting on the move - Barricade positions at various distances - Extended-range shooting at steel IPSC targets from 100-386 yards - Live-fire-and-maneuver exercises - Final tactical stage combining everything learned
Their Defensive Shotgun course covers what most shooters miss: the shotgun isn't just about trigger time—it's about feeding. The core principle hammered throughout: "When running a shotgun, if you're not shooting you're loading."
The class covers: - Shotgun platform overview (pump vs. semi-auto, home defense setup) - Ammunition selection and patterning your defensive load - Multiple loading and reloading techniques - Recoil management (Push-Pull grip and nuances) - Defensive tactics specific to the shotgun
Instructors spend real time on safety—not a checkbox but an actual thorough medical plan with designated personnel roles.
Green Ops offers private training customized to your goals. Instructors like Josh Shaw (Grand Master competitive pistol shooter since 2015) design full-day courses around what you actually want to achieve. Private students report instructors designing entire days around USPSA match simulation or filling specific skill gaps.
Beyond live courses, Green Ops offers: - Green Ops Targets - Custom designed targets - Dry Fire Training Targets - Home practice tools - Green Knight Patch Standards - Qualification tracking - Green Ops Gamble Challenge - Competitive dry fire format - Podcasts & Blog - Ongoing tactical tips and instruction - Gift Certificates - Training as a gift option - Discount Program - Recurring student pricing

Green Ops doesn't pretend training is cheap. Ammunition, gear, travel, and course fees add up. Their argument: you get what you pay for. With instructor cadre actively competing and training outside their teaching role, with excellent student-to-staff ratios, and with zero gear elitism (they use equipment at all price points), the training ROI is high.
No free lunches. Green Ops founder Mike Green is direct about this: mastering LPVOs, running shotguns efficiently, or improving pistol skills takes real work and dedication. The instructors themselves live this philosophy.
Training schedule, registration, waivers, FAQs, and cancellation/refund policies available on their website. Most courses require pre-registration.
