Full description and what we offer
Fort Riley's archery facility gives Central Kansas archers two distinct shooting environments in one location. The setup covers everything from competitive 3D tournament shooting to casual year-round practice.
The 3D course runs during FROG (Fort Riley Outdoor Group) scheduled shoots. This isn't your basic target setup. Each 3D target presents different variables:
3D targets also open for tournaments and special events. For upcoming competition schedules, check the FROG Facebook page directly—they post shoot announcements and event details there.
The static range stays open every day from sunup to sundown with zero admission fees. You get:
Hours: Open year-round, sunup to sundown. No closed days.
You'll need a Fort Riley iSportsman account to use either range. The process is straightforward:
1. Register or log in at fortriley.isportsman.net 2. Complete the 7-minute safety video in your "My Safety Briefs" tab 3. Pass the mandatory safety quiz (must score 100%) 4. Check in/out on every visit through iSportsman
If you already have an iSportsman account from Kansas or another military installation, just log in with your existing credentials—no duplicate registration needed.
Archery access falls under Fort Riley's Outdoor Recreation Permit system:
| Permit Type | Cost | Who It Covers |
|---|---|---|
| Outdoor Recreation Permit | Free | All non-hunting activities (includes archery) |
| Fort Riley Conservation Permit | $25 (or free if exempt) | Game hunting + all other activities |
Fort Riley Conservation Office - Building 407, Pershing Court - Fort Riley, Kansas 66442 - Phone: (785) 239-6211 (leave a message if unavailable) - Email: [email protected]
Getting There: Use the Fort Riley iSportsman map feature to find exact archery range coordinates and access roads. Only improved roads (paved/gravel) and marked trails are open to vehicles.
Bring your own bow and arrows. Fort Riley doesn't provide archery equipment rentals—this is a use-your-own-gear facility. The static range's square bale targets stop arrows effectively; the 3D course uses standard 3D targets.
All archery use on Fort Riley falls under Fort Riley Regulation 210-15 and the Outdoor Recreation Briefing requirements. The safety video covers everything you need to know about where you can and can't shoot, blaze orange requirements (not applicable for archery in most cases, but check current regs), and vehicle access rules.
