Cokeley Farms has spent 37 years building a reputation across northeast Kansas for serious hunting opportunities. Located at 7260 126th Road in Delia—just 30 minutes northwest of Topeka—the operation combines a working hunting preserve with a sporting clays facility on over 5,000 acres of prime habitat.
Pheasant, quail, and prairie chicken hunts run September through March on wild Kansas birds. The property maintains populations of all three species, with limited bookings each season to preserve native bird numbers. Full-day hunts cost $315 per person and include lodging, continental breakfast, guided hunting with trained dogs (yours or theirs), and crock pot lunch.
Guides like Kenny—a full-time icon at the farm who runs a kennel of champion German Shorthaired Pointers (Roxy, Zoe, Emma, Lucky, and others)—work the dogs hard to find birds. Kennels are available free if you bring your own dogs.
For hunters without time or budget for travel, controlled shoots run year-round:

The operation manages an extensive hybrid turkey program across 5,000+ acres. Eastern turkeys dominate naturally, but Rio Grande and hybrid crosses are taken in spring seasons. Recent highlights include:
Guides rank among the best in Kansas. This is a two-bird minimum for most packages.
Trophy whitetail hunts offer deer scoring 150 to the 190s. The preserve has developed a strong gene pool over years by carefully managing the buck harvest. Recent season reports show 190+ point deer still "walking the line."
Archery, black powder, and rifle season hunts available. Payment in full required at booking. Current note: Due to dry conditions, the operation has further limited deer hunting temporarily—call for current availability.
The clay course operates Wednesday-Saturday, 8 AM to 4 PM. Friday and Sunday are discount days. Monday and Tuesday by appointment only. Open 7 days a week for hunting seasons (September-March).
Kansas resident hunting license or controlled shooting area permit required for hunters 16+. Book early—prime dates fill quickly.
