Full description and what we offer
The Kansas Firearm Training Center operates as a statewide resource dedicated to promoting firearm safety and competence across Kansas. Founded as Train Me Kansas in 2015 and relaunched in 2023, it's a project of the Kansas State Rifle Association's Training Division with a mission rooted in the state's strong Second Amendment protections and outdoor shooting culture.
The platform functions as a central hub for:
Kansas has exceptional firearm protections, including Constitutional Carry (effective 2015) and zero-cost concealed carry permits (since 2023). The Training Center bridges the gap between these freedoms and responsible ownership.
With Constitutional Carry making permit-free carry legal for law-abiding Kansans 21 and older, the need for accessible safety training increased. The Training Center stepped in to ensure more Kansans from every background have the opportunity to learn proper firearm handling, safety fundamentals, and self-defense techniques.
The site welcomes submissions of training opportunities, events, and instructor information to keep the directory current and comprehensive.
