American Patriot Defense LLC

American Patriot Defense (APD) was founded in 2021 by Dwight Bushong, a combat veteran and former KYARNG Marksmanship Competition Team member. Bushong spent two deployments in Afghanistan conducting mounted and dismounted security, convoy protection, and defensive combat operations. He transitioned to civilian law enforcement in 2014 and is a certified Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor. His philosophy is blunt: "If your training is easy, you're training to lose."

They structure training for actual progression:

• •Fundamentals – Firearms safety and basic handling for first-time owners
• •Intermediate – Skill-building and performance under pressure
• •Advanced – Tactics, Force-on-Force scenario training, and lethal encounter readiness

All instruction focuses on four pillars: safety, defensive mindset, performance, and realistic training.

APD offers three formats:
