Orrington Rod and Gun Club

Orrington Rod & Gun Club has been serving central Maine shooters for nearly 40 years. Located in Orrington (just outside the Bangor area), ORGC operates as a membership-based facility where riflemen, pistol shooters, and archers come to compete and refine their skills.

The club features:

• •12-bench rifle range with dedicated shooting building
• •Four berm distances: 25, 50, 100, and 200 yards
• •Dedicated pistol range (completed spring 2023)
• •20-60 yard archery range (traditional bows only—no crossbows)

Orgc hosts several types of matches throughout the year:

• •Factory Rifle Matches - Shoot what you bring, compete in your class. Multiple rifle categories keep competition fair:
• •Factory Class - All original action, barrel, and stock (SAAMI chamber)
• •Factory Modified - Aftermarket triggers, barrels, chambers, stocks, and sights allowed
• •Unlimited Class - Any benchrest rifle
• •Rimfire Class - .22 Long Rifle only, 100-yard targets

• •International Benchrest Shooters (IBS) Events - ORGC hosts precision shooting matches that draw competitors from across the country. These are the real deal—events where you can meet world record holders and push your shooting to the next level.

Memberships run January 1–December 31 (not prorated). New members must attend a safety orientation with the Range Safety Officer before shooting. Background investigations are conducted at the club's discretion.

Need to join? You'll need to:

1. Complete the membership application (online or mail-in) 2. Answer background questions (felon status, firearm restrictions, protective orders) 3. Attend mandatory new member orientation 4. Pay membership dues
