Scarborough Fish & Game Assoc.

The Scarborough Fish & Game Association was incorporated in 1958, but the club's roots trace back to the 1940s. Today, with over 1,000 active members across Maine, SFGA operates on approximately 247 acres of secured, gated property in Scarborough—making it one of the region's most established shooting communities.

The club maintains extensive facilities across multiple disciplines:

SFGA hosts matches and events throughout the year across:

• •IDPA – Monthly action pistol matches with Introduction to Action Shooting clinics
• •Precision Pistol – Formal competition format
• •Rifle – High power and utility rifle events
• •Tactical Games – Dynamic shooting scenarios
• •Trap, Skeet & Sporting Clays – Clay target competitions
• •Long Gong – Unique 300-yard 22LR rimfire challenge using AR500 steel gongs (8", 6", and 4")

NRA-certified instruction available to members and public:

• •Basic Pistol courses
• •Hunter's Safety certification (Maine Youth Field Day included)
• •Personal Protection & Concealed Carry training
• •NRA Instructor certification (Basic Instructor Training available)
• •NRA Chief Range Safety Officer training

• •Hours: Open to members 7 days a week, 8am until sunset. Lighted ranges close by 9pm.

• •Requirements: New applicants need sponsorship from an existing member in good standing (minimum 1 year membership). If you don't know a member, the club will work to find you a sponsor—allow 1-2 months. Application fee: $50, plus annual dues (varies by membership type).

• •Security: Electronic FOB gate access ensures only members and authorized guests can enter the property.

SFGA enforces strict NRA Range Safety Rules across all disciplines:

• •All NRA fundamental safety rules observed at all times
• •Required eye and hearing protection
• •Clear cease-fire protocols with safety officers in bright yellow RSO hats
• •Designated Range Safety Officers present most weekends (summer/fall)
• •Lead hygiene and proper cleanup standards
• •Prohibited: incendiary/tracer/armor-piercing ammo, bump firing devices, binary triggers, and full-auto firearms (except .223/5.56 and pistol caliber subguns on designated LE ranges with permission)

All club events need volunteers. Grounds and facilities maintenance volunteers needed every Saturday 9am-Noon in front of the clubhouse—no sign-up required, just show up.
