Damascus Outdoors operates as Maryland's go-to FFL for firearms transfers. They handle both new and used firearms, provided they're Maryland-compliant—which means knowing the handgun roster, pre-1985 manufacturing dates, and integrated mechanical safety device requirements.
The process is straightforward:
1. Arrange the transfer - Call or email Damascus Outdoors with your purchase details 2. They send their FFL - Your seller receives the FFL license and ships the firearm 3. You receive notification - Damascus Outdoors calls when your gun arrives and is processed 4. Complete paperwork - Bring valid Maryland photo ID and required documentation 5. Take possession - Background check approval for long guns; HQL + form 77R for handguns
Important: Transfers are held for 45 days. After that, storage fees apply at $5/day until the fee reaches the gun's value.

While they accept FedEx shipments, Damascus Outdoors isn't responsible for packages lost or undelivered outside business hours. Make sure your seller includes their FFL copy, your name, and phone number with the shipment.
