MD residents must complete GirlOnFire's four-hour Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL) course before purchasing a handgun. The course covers handgun safety, shooting fundamentals, ammunition, malfunctions, cleaning, escalation of force, and Maryland/Federal legal review. Includes a live-fire qualification portion at Rockville, MD or Owings Mills, MD.

The MD Wear & Carry Permit Course (Part II) is required to legally carry a firearm in Maryland. This extensive course teaches defensive strategies, criminal cues, less-lethal options, holster selection, drawing from concealment, and PTSD reactions to lethal force. Also includes Maryland and Federal legal review with required live-fire qualifications.

NRA Certified Pistol Instructor Course ($399) includes everything needed for NRA certification plus Business Instructor Training (BIT). Candidates learn NRA policies, public speaking, training methodology, course organization, budgeting, and how to teach basic pistol to beginners. Includes lesson plans and student packets. Locations: Beltsville MD, King of Prussia PA, McLean VA, Baltimore MD.

NRA Certified Rifle Instructor Course ($250-375) covers rifle-specific NRA discipline methods, evaluating shooter performance, and preparing candidates to instruct basic rifle courses. Same instruction methodology as pistol certification with rifle-specific training aids and lesson plans.

NRA Chief Range Safety Officer Course ($250-375) is a 14-hour certification for candidates who already hold NRA Range Safety Officer status. This course teaches developing range procedures, inspections, emergency protocols, firearm stoppages, and safety briefings. Ideal for those building ranges, running ranges, or consulting for range development.

GirlOnFire Defensive Pistol II Course is a comprehensive classroom and live-fire training covering criminal cues, crime statistics, high-risk situations, criminal mindset analysis, tactical reloads, malfunction clearing for speed, and drawing from concealment. Live-fire portion includes speed qualification and law enforcement-style drills ($169, Rockville MD).

Firearms Instructor Level II Course is exclusive for instructors who've completed certification and been training actively. Topics include business branding, marketing strategies, industry niches, and discussion of real-world instructor challenges. Limited seats offered a few times per year ($199).

Firearms Business in a Box ($2,500) provides everything to launch your own training academy:
