M4 Security handles the state-mandated handgun permit training that Maryland requires. Their instructors are active security professionals with law enforcement and defensive tactics backgrounds—not just range instructors.
- •Original Application: 16 hours of instruction across two days (Saturday 8am-4pm, Sunday 9am-1pm classroom + 3pm-7pm range). Cost: $350 plus $75 Maryland State Police fee.
- •Renewal: 8 hours of instruction. Cost: $150 plus $50 state fee.
The curriculum covers state firearm law, home safety fundamentals, handgun mechanisms, and a live-fire component where you need 70% accuracy to pass. You're doing this at an actual range (Guntry Gun Range in Owings Mills), not a classroom simulator.
