Master Arms & Tactical develops firearms instructors and teaches Maryland handgun qualification courses in Glen Burnie. The operation is veteran-owned and staffed by Maryland State Police certified and NRA certified instructors.

The path to becoming an instructor breaks into four phases:

1. NRA Basic Instructor Training – Foundation course for teaching candidates 2. Discipline-Specific Training – NRA Pistol Instructor certification and similar 3. Maryland Credentials – QHIC/QHIL (Qualified Handgun Instructor) license, which legally allows you to teach Maryland HQL and Wear & Carry permit courses 4. Advanced Training & Teaching – Continued skill development for practicing instructors 5. Continued Instructor Development (CID) – Ongoing training on weeknights, typically 2 hours or less

All instructors teaching through Master Arms & Tactical are paid very competitive rates. They actively recruit new instructors.

  • Maryland HQL Classes – Handgun Qualification License training required by state law
  • Wear & Carry Permit Training – Concealed carry permit coursework (two-part curriculum)
  • Private Lessons – One-on-one instruction available
  • Instructor Development – Complete certification pathway from NRA Basic through advanced teaching skills
  • Range Qualifications – Partnership with Guntry (state-of-the-art indoor range in Owings Mills)

Tuition must be paid in advance. If you need to reschedule, they offer one free reschedule. Second miss results in no refund. Cancellations within 2 hours of private lessons cost $25/hour.
