Tuscarora Gun Club

Tuscarora Gun Club sits in the shadows of scenic Sugarloaf Mountain and was established to foster organized clay target shooting. The entire facility was built on volunteer labor—a working model that continues today. It's a not-for-profit, semi-private club that welcomes both members and non-members.

The club specializes exclusively in shotgun sports. No rifles or pistols. You get:

• •6 trap fields
• •1 skeet range
• •5-stand course (seasonal, April–November)

• •Note: 5-Stand is closed until Spring 2026.

NRA-certified shotgun instruction is available for beginners and experienced shooters. Contact Stan Peter at (903) 742-2497 or [email protected] for lesson details.

The club takes safety seriously. All members and guests must:

• •Wear eye and ear protection at all times
• •Keep actions open and muzzles toward the ground when not actively shooting
• •Avoid loading until on position and ready to call for target
• •Follow all club safety rules without exception

Anyone not exercising proper gun control or violating safety requirements will be asked to leave.

Membership is capped at 150 active members. If you're interested:

• •Annual dues: $80/year
• •Initiation fee: $100 (one-time)
• •Minimum age: 18 years
• •Path to membership: Start as Provisional Member, complete volunteer service hours, attend two General Membership meetings, then vote to full Permanent Member status
