Eagle Adventures partners with Pourvoirie Relais 44 in La Tuque, Quebec to offer dedicated black bear hunts. Tim O'Leary and Paul D'Auteuil—both lifelong Massachusetts residents with deep law enforcement backgrounds—manage guide services and hold exclusive hunting rights across vast territory.
The Guides Behind the Hunt
Tim O'Leary spent 35 years in law enforcement (local, county, and state level) and is a seasoned guide for both hunting and fishing. He's guided trips across Massachusetts, New York, and Alaska, and harvested trophy black bear, brown bear, deer, turkey, and moose. In 2021, he fulfilled a lifelong goal harvesting a Boone and Crockett Kodiak brown bear.
Paul D'Auteuil is retired after 34 years in law enforcement and brings a lifetime of hunting, hiking, and camping expertise. He's a Maine guide with numerous trophy black bears, deer, moose, and turkeys in his record. In 2022, he completed hiking the entire 2,193-mile Appalachian Trail.
"We are lifetime outdoorsmen who have been hunting and guiding Black Bear hunts in Quebec for over twenty-five years. We are seasoned veterans who work tirelessly to provide our hunters with a memorable hunt of a lifetime."
Eagle Adventures scouts new stand locations multiple times per year, searching for the best bear habitat. They use extensive trail camera networks to track bear numbers, size, and activity patterns—ensuring you hunt during peak times. Rather than relying on the same stands yearly, they rotate locations to give every hunter a legitimate shot at multiple mature bears. The goal: three active stands available per hunter.
Most stands accommodate two hunters with shot ranges between 15-60 yards, keeping encounters at manageable distances.
