Full description and what we offer
Heirloom Grips started in 2020 when Eric Fleming, a professional machinist with 29 years experience, bought a single-action revolver that didn't fit his hand. He reached out to gunsmith John Taffin, who connected him with Tony Kojis of TK Grips in Boise—a grip carver with decades of serious work under his belt.
Instead of just making grips for Fleming, Kojis offered to teach him the trade. That handshake became the foundation of what Heirloom Grips is today: a collaboration between two generations of artisans dedicated to the craft of fitting wood and horn to steel.
Tony Kojis has been carving grips since 1963. He's made grips for serious shooters like John Taffin and Don Wilkerson, and people come from across the country to have him work on their grandfather's old Colt sixguns. He's also a walking encyclopedia on collectible firearms.
This isn't a mass-production operation. Heirloom Grips focuses on what handmade work actually means: taking time to understand your revolver, your hand, and how they need to work together. Each grip is carved specifically for fit and function.
