Full description and what we offer
Mass Firearms School has been the go-to firearms training operation in Massachusetts since 2008. Their education and training program is the largest in the state—not because they're good at marketing, but because they run classes every single day.
The core offering is the Mass Basic Firearms Safety Course: a four-hour class that qualifies you for a Massachusetts LTC Class A, B, or FID. Cost is $125, live-fire shooting is built in (no add-on fees), and you walk out with your certificate the same day.
"Our shooting program is more than just blowing off a few rounds at the range. During the class, we work extensively on proper grip, sight alignment, and trigger squeeze. Your instructor will stand right by your side guiding every shot."
Their instructor-to-student ratio averages 1:4, sometimes 1:3 for larger sessions. All instructors are Mass State Police and NRA-certified.
Mass Firearms uses a specialized curriculum approved by the Colonel of the State Police. They're not cutting corners—they've added an extensive shooting clinic on top of the state-mandated content to improve accuracy. Everyone takes it, regardless of experience level, because Massachusetts firearms law is complex enough to require formal instruction.
Once you've got your license, they offer advanced courses:
| Course | Hours | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Defensive Pistol | 4 | $175 |
| Dynamic Pistol: Advanced Tactics | 4 | $175 |
| Concealed Carry Fundamentals | 4 | $125 |
| Home Defense Tactics | 4 | $100 |
| MFS Tactical Trauma Care I | varies | $125 |
| Responding to the Active Shooter | 4 | $125 |
| Pepper Spray I | 2 | $80 |
They also run Skill Builder sessions ($80, member price $60) covering: - Drawing from concealment - Point shooting - Low-light shooting - Handgun accuracy - Pistol caliber carbine - Positional shooting - Pistol optics - Revolver mastery
Two indoor ranges, 17 total lanes, state-of-the-art ventilation and climate control. The facility is temperature-controlled year-round, always clean, and fully handicap accessible with free parking.
The Armory: Semi-automatic handguns, revolvers, rifles, and shotguns from manufacturers like Smith & Wesson and Sturm, Ruger & Co. Try before you buy.
Mass Firearms Shop operates their retail division from the same location. They advertise "some of the lowest prices in the country" and let you test-fire firearms before purchase. Expert staff help you find the right gun for your needs.
