The Jr. Rifle Club at Oakland County Sportsman's Club is a dedicated youth shooting sports program designed for young marksmen ages 10-17. This established program combines competitive rifle training with comprehensive safety instruction, fostering the next generation of responsible shooters.
The club operates multiple specialized ranges on its 4770 Waterford Road property in Clarkston:
Newbie sign-ups occur seasonally, typically in September. Registration includes a $15 enrollment fee plus $5 weekly participation fees. A mandatory safety class is held during registration for all new shooters and parents. Equipment is fully provided, making it accessible for youth without personal firearms.
While the Jr. Rifle Club welcomes all youth ages 10-17, OCSC members receive priority enrollment. The club has been serving the Clarkston and Oakland County community for over 80 years, combining conservation education with competitive shooting sports.
