Off Grid Armory: Northern MN's Firearm Store

Off Grid Armory runs monthly Permit to Carry classes that actually live up to the hype. Students consistently praise instructor Sam Smith for being knowledgeable without the ego—he covers Minnesota law thoroughly, uses real-world examples, and keeps the pace practical and engaging. Classes include everything: materials, lunch (homemade chili), eye and hearing protection, and range time with supervised handgun shooting on suppressed firearms so you get clear feedback without the noise.

"This being the 5th class I've taken, this by far was the best. To the point. Knowledgeable. They provided everything from start to finish." — Simon Danielson, verified student

Beyond standard firearms retail, Off Grid Armory offers machine gun rentals and 50 BMG rentals—experiences you won't find at most gun stores. The onsite range is currently reserved for permit-to-carry students and rental customers, with plans to open public range access in the future.

The shop carries a solid selection of firearms, ammunition, and accessories from trusted brands. The building doubles as something of a firearms museum, with historical pieces and memorabilia throughout that give it character beyond typical retail. It's the kind of place that appeals to WWII collectors, hunters, and people just getting started.

Off Grid Armory's philosophy centers on community safety through proper firearm training and responsible ownership. That shows up in how they approach their classes—supportive, hands-on, and built for real people rather than combat fantasy.
