Rainbow Sportsmens Club

Rainbow Sportsmen's Club has operated continuously since 1949 as a private, members-only target shooting and conservation club. Located along the scenic Crow River near Cokato in Wright County, the club provides a rural shooting environment for rifle, handgun, trap, and archery disciplines.

The club maintains multiple shooting benches and stations across their property:

• •Rifle ranges at 100, 200, and 300 yards with earthen berms and backstops
• •Handgun ranges for pistol and revolver shooting
• •Trap shooting stations (25-bird rounds)
• •Archery range at 30 yards
• •Running Deer target at 70 yards for rifle and handgun competition

All shooting occurs during daylight hours only (legal sunrise to sunset). The range operates on a cold range basis—all firearms must remain unloaded and cased or with actions/cylinders open until ready to fire on the designated line.

RSC enforces strict safety protocols:

• •Eye and ear protection required on or behind the firing line
• •All shooters must use designated firing lines only
• •Lead bullets only for metal silhouettes and steel plate targets (no jacketed or steel core)
• •No exploding targets, no glass bottles, no shooting at rocks or trash
• •No shooting into or across the river or standing water
• •Alcoholic beverages prohibited on the firing line; allowed only in clubhouse and camping areas
• •Members responsible for guest supervision and cleanup
• •Violation of range rules can result in immediate expulsion

Every member is a safety officer with responsibility to remind others about RSC rules

Memberships are annual (January 1–December 31) and must be renewed every year. Members receive:

• •Access to all club ranges during operating hours
• •Inclusion of legal spouse and minor children
• •Ability to bring one paid guest per day ($10 daily range fee)
• •Membership card and gate code for secure access
• •Right to participate in member-only competitions

New applications must be submitted in person at the club. Processing appointments available: - 2nd and 4th Saturday each month, 10 AM–Noon - Monthly club meetings (typically first Monday, 7:30 PM at main clubhouse)

• •Requirements: Valid photo ID and current year dues payment required at all times on club property.

Public Events (Open to Non-Members):

Member-Only Competitions:

• •Practical Shooting League (May–September): Tactical rifle, handgun, and shotgun events
• •Trap League: Weekly league shooting
• •All Around Shoot: Five-discipline competition with archery (10 arrows @ 30 yds), handgun (10 rounds offhand @ 25 yds), rifle (10 rounds offhand @ 50 yds), running deer (9 rounds @ 70 yds), and trap (1 round of 25 birds)

• •Main clubhouse available for member events and gatherings
• •Clubhouse rental requires a member on-site for responsibility and cleanup
• •Designated camping areas for extended stays
• •Parking areas and gravel roads (no driving on grass or across ranges)
• •Trash bins, burning barrels, and brass buckets for cleanup
