Square1 Outdoors, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit incorporated in 2012 by Kevin Owens to promote outdoor activities for youth and families across Northeast Mississippi. Every volunteer—parents, veterans, emergency responders—donates their time. No one takes a salary. No professional fundraisers. Just people who shoot.
They operate two properties:
Sullivan Farms Recreational Shooting Area (Tupelo) - 200-yard rifle range with berms at 100 and 200 yards, steel targets, covered 50'×16' raised firing line - 50-yard rimfire rifle and bullseye handgun range (25 and 50-yard target lines, raised covered deck) - Four pistol bays to 35 yards with reactive and static steel targets - 5-Stand covered shotgun deck with manual throwers and Atlas AT250 trap machines (250-clay capacity) - Developing archery area with bag targets; crossbows allowed on rifle ranges - Trap range under development
Prentiss County Sportsman's Club (Booneville) - Indoor air gun and archery ranges (10m indoor, 50m outdoor target range) - 3D archery range with hanging bag targets for hunting bows and crossbows - Outdoor archery and shotgun shooting - Base camp for water safety and small craft paddling
Youth shooters get zero-cost range access during regular hours with adult supervision (age 18+). Youth organizations—Trail Life, 4-H, BSA troops, church groups—book ranges at no charge with volunteer pro-staff on hand.
Youth membership is free (no membership needed to shoot). Register once and parents get emailed about all club activities.

No tryouts. No fees for practice. Youth provide ammunition ($10/box, 2–4 boxes for events). Competitions cost $15–$45 depending on venue. Genesis bows available; 12-gauge and 20-gauge club shotguns provided.
Hosted at Prentiss County Sportsman's Club with BAI-certified instructors (Level 1, Level 2, and one Level 3 NTS Coach):
Certification courses (ages 10+) with safe gun-handling practicals but no live shooting. Online option available for ages 12+. Generally hosted in Lee and Prentiss counties. Register at mdwfp.com.
Adult/family memberships currently limited—new members accepted only as existing members leave. Military, first responders, and youth under 18 still welcome.
Family Membership: $240/year (or $20/month bank draft) - Up to two adult members - All children under 18 (with parent/guardian) - Extended family (grandchildren, nieces, nephews with youth membership forms) - Non-member guests allowed for a couple visits
