Maureen Rogers started Lady Gets a Gun in 2010 with a simple mission: empower women to feel confident, liberated, and self-reliant with firearms. She brings a unique background—35 years as a special education teacher—which shapes her approach. She doesn't just teach shooting; she meets students where they are, addresses trauma and misconceptions, and builds genuine competence.

Maureen holds NRA instructor certifications in: - Pistol - Rifle - Shotgun - Home Firearm Safety - Chief Range Safety Officer

She completed extensive training at Front Sight Training Center and continues to teach women-only and co-ed classes through the Redmond Rod & Gun Club in Bend.

$250 ($150 deposit) | 2 days | Women & co-ed

Covers ammunition basics, pistol form and function (semi-auto vs. revolver), common shooting errors, proper fundamentals, and shooting positions. Includes classroom instruction plus live fire at Redmond Rod & Gun Club. Your completion certificate counts toward Oregon's License to Carry application.

Co-ed | Includes live fire

Focuses on rifle operation, ammunition basics, shooting fundamentals, range commands, rifle maintenance, and shooting from multiple positions (bench rest, prone, sitting, standing, kneeling).

$125 | 1 day

Develops NRA-certified Range Safety Officers with knowledge of firearm safety, function, malfunction, and range operations.

Class Size: Limited to 7 participants for hands-on attention

Maureen also serves as: - Clinic Director for Women on Target (NRA-sponsored events) - Pistol & Rifle Instructor at Ladies' Nites - Cub Scout Shooting Sports Director running BB gun, archery, and Eddie Eagle programs
