Owensville Gun Club operates five distinct shooting ranges on its Gasconade County property, 2 miles west of Owensville on Highway 28 West:
Full-auto firearms in automatic mode and .50 BMG caliber are prohibited for safety and facility maintenance reasons.
The club runs three primary competitive shooting programs:
Civilian Marksmanship Program-sanctioned events featuring: - Vintage WWI/WWII bolt-action rifles (Springfield 1903, Enfield, K98, etc.) - M1 Garand competitions - M1 Carbine matches - Rifles available for competitors who don't own them - Standard 200-yard course of fire with prone, standing-to-prone, and standing stages - $5 entry fee; competitors over 60 can start prone stage seated
Matches held monthly May through September with clinic offered in March. $5 entry fee.
ARA-sanctioned .22 Long Rifle competitions with no restrictions on rifles, rests, or scope magnification. Six-target matches at minimum 50 yards.
Current members receive: - Year-round range access 8:00 AM to dusk - Member pricing at all club matches - CMP purchase eligibility - Voting rights at annual meetings - Facility rental privileges

Non-members can participate in all scheduled club matches and benefit events without membership. Guests of members need accompaniment for recreational shooting only.

Owensville Gun Club is affiliated with: - National Rifle Association (NRA) - Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) - Missouri Sport Shooting Association (MSSA) - Gasconade County 4H Shooting Sports Program
The club actively supports youth shooting sports through its 4H partnership and dedicated Youth Shotgun Captain position.
All shooters must follow NRA minimum safety standards: - Muzzle always pointed in safe direction - Finger off trigger until ready to shoot - Action open and firearm unloaded until ready to use - No handling when anyone is downrange - Eye and ear protection mandatory
Unsafe handling, theft, or damage of club property can result in membership suspension or revocation after officer review.
Annual meeting held third Sunday in February. Board positions include President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, three-year Trustees, and Field Captains for each discipline. Current members vote on all major decisions and officer elections.
