Full description and what we offer
A competitive shooting event for enrolled Montana 4-H members, held at the Exhibition Hall at Montana ExpoPark (400 3rd St. NW, Great Falls, MT 59404) on Saturday, February 21, 2026.
Registration opens January 1, 2026 and closes February 13, 2026. Youth must be currently enrolled in a Montana 4-H Shooting Sports Program to compete. Contact the Extension office at 406-454-6980 for availability after the deadline.
Arrive at least 30 minutes early to be ready to shoot on time.
Multiple target bow disciplines available: - Primitive Bow - Bare Bow - Limited Bow - Bow Hunter - Unlimited - Olympic Recurve
Shooters may enter up to 3 target bow events. Classes determined by 4-H age as of October 1, 2025.
Two formats available: - Prone: 40 shots at 10 meters (12PM or 1:30PM) - Three Position (3P): 10 shots each prone, standing, kneeling at 10 meters (8:30AM or 3PM)
Age divisions: 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15+. Sporter class only—precision rifles and competition clothing prohibited. Coaches may pump rifles only.
40 shots at 10 meters with 1.5 minutes per shot. Age-based positions: - Ages 9-12: Basic Supported (two hands, table rest) - Ages 13-14: Standing Supported (one hand, T-stand) - Ages 9-14: Sub-Junior International Standing (unsupported) - Ages 15+: International Standing (unsupported)
Shooting time: 10AM (first come, first served)
Cost: $15 per discipline
