After certain modifications, test firing is required to verify proper function and sight alignment:
| Firearm Type | Cost |
|---|---|
| Rifle | $25–$50 |
| Shotgun | $15–$20 |
| Handgun | $20–$40 |
| Rimfire | $8 |
Use their Online Workorder Form to document exactly what needs to be done. Include your contact information and a clear description of the work required. Don't ship anything without prior approval—they maintain a waiting list and schedule everything in advance.
Handguns require FFL transfer. All handguns must be shipped through an FFL. Individuals cannot use US Mail for handguns. All handguns entering or leaving the shop require a firearm lock per the Child Safety Lock Act of 2005.
Tanks Rifle Shop does not accept gunsmithing work from California residents or Colorado residents (due to HB24-1349 effective April 1, 2025). They only accept firearms from California individuals, not through California FFLs.
