Full description and what we offer

Las Vegas Archers was established in 1951 and has been a driving force in the Las Vegas Valley archery community ever since. What started over seven decades ago is now a family-oriented club that brings together everyone from beginners to competitive shooters.

The club's range sits at the summit of Mountain Springs on Forest Road 989, just off Highway 160 on your way to Pahrump. It's the real thing—an actual outdoor archery facility with multiple shooting areas:

  • Practice range up to 80 yards
  • 3D target range with 56 NFAA field and hunter targets
  • Unmarked range with 20 animal targets
  • Broadhead sight-in pit (west of practice range)

Find it behind the big silver gate. Google Maps or Waze will get you there if you enter the range address.

The range includes a clubhouse with full kitchen, centrally located restroom facilities, and port-a-potties throughout the grounds. The target barn stores equipment and targets.

Camping and RV hookups are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Power hookups are included. Camping donations are $10 per night per unit. No reservations taken, and RVs cannot be left for long-term storage. During the first two weeks of October, the parking lot is cleared for tournament use.

Guest fees: $10 per guest per day when accompanied by a member.

LVA hosts multiple competitive events:

EventDescription
Silver Dollar ShootSignature event mixing 3D animals and paper targets from 3 to 123 yards, including a 10-foot silver dollar long-range target
Safari Shoot60 Spot Hogg paper targets over 2 days (40 day 1, 20 day 2) with on-range camping
Stan Magee/Nevada Senior Games900 Round at 60, 50, and 40 yards on standard 122cm 10-ring targets
Seasonal Fun ShootsHalloween (skeletons, witches), Thanksgiving (pumpkins, pilgrims), Christmas (snowmen, reindeer)

The club's signature event challenges shooters with different angles and distances—even experienced archers find it demanding.

New members and returning members who let memberships lapse must attend a safety and range orientation with a board member. Bring your completed application and payment (check, money order, or cash). The club holds regular monthly meetings and encourages newcomers to attend.

Current members receive renewal invoices by email in June each year. Members who join January-June don't get a renewal invoice the following year.

The club operates under Forest Service regulations:

  • No firearms on range
  • No smoking on range
  • Broadheads only in the broadhead pit or designated 3D targets—they damage standard targets extensively
  • Crossbows allowed on practice range only (shooter provides own bale/backstop)
  • No glass, bicycles, motorcycles, or vehicles on range
  • No slingshots
  • Unruly dogs must be leashed
  • Children must be supervised by adults
  • Sky drawing (unsafe bow drawing angles) prohibited
  • Fire regulations strictly enforced: 10 gallons water and shovel required; fires only in clubhouse/parking areas when permitted by Forest Service
  • Trash pickup: The range has no trash service. Pack out what you pack in.

2025-2026 Board: - President: John Bush - Vice President: Alejandro Matheu - Treasurer: Brandi Bush - Range Master: Andrew Raddie - Board Members: Shannon Aikau, Donald Perkins, Daniel Krznarich, Marc Numazu
