Full description and what we offer
Built with generous volunteer assistance from the local archery community, the Union County Archery Range at Oak Ridge Park in Clark is New Jersey's only public facility of its kind. The range operates daily from dawn to dusk and welcomes archers of all skill levels who meet the certification requirements.
To use the range, you'll need a current Union County Archery ID Card. Here's the process:
1. Complete a Group Archery Safety Lesson (minimum age 9) 2. Submit your course completion card signed by the instructor 3. Obtain your photo ID card
Registration for 2026 Group Safety Courses begins March 1st at ucnj.org/reserve. The range closes during scheduled group course times.
Shooting standards: - Max 6 arrows per relay (10-minute limit) - Shoot from marked firing line only - Straight in-lane shooting only—no crossing shots or roving - 5-minute max for arrow retrieval - Display your Archery ID at all times
Once certified, take your skills further with private lessons. Intermediate instruction is available for groups of four or fewer at $100 per person, scheduled by mutual agreement. Lessons are appointment-only and require prior completion of a Group Safety Lesson or valid Archery ID.
