Hunters New Mexico is a family-owned outfitting operation run by Eddie Ortega, a member of SCI and The New Mexico Council of Guides and Outfitters. The outfit's philosophy is straightforward: hard work and deep knowledge of the hunting areas equals successful hunts.

Elk hunts take place on public lands in Northern New Mexico, specifically game management units 6A, 6B (Valles Caldera National Preserve), and 6C, with permits available for most areas statewide.
Recent Results: - 100% shooting opportunity on mature bulls over the last three years - 80% success rate on mature bulls
Hunt Methods: - Calling, spot and stalk, glassing - Sitting blinds on water holes and wallows - Bow, muzzleloader, and rifle options
Seasons & Duration: - Archery hunts – 5 days in September (longer hunts available) - Muzzleloader hunts – 5 days in early October - Rifle hunts – 5 days in mid to late October
Hunters are entered in the annual New Mexico draw (submissions mid-March, results late April). Unsuccessful applicants can purchase a landowner tag at additional cost, based on availability.
New Mexico offers some of the country's best antelope hunting, and Hunters New Mexico hunts both private and public lands.
All guides are either family members or personal friends with extensive experience and intimate knowledge of their hunting areas. The outfit invests significant time in preseason scouting to deliver results.
